  1. Claris Home Page Presentation Template 11/22/96

  3. This folder contains example files for a presentation
  4. template.  To see this template working, open the file
  5. "Intro.htm" in your browser.  The arrows at the bottom
  6. of the screen are navigation buttons that control the
  7. presentation flow.  Press the right arrow to advance
  8. to the next slide, the left arrow to return to the
  9. previous slide, and the middle square to jump to the
  10. first slide in the template.

  12. Open one of the slides in Claris Home Page, and you
  13. will see that it is made up of a table with two cells.
  14. The top cell contains the presentation content.  The
  15. bottom cell contains the navigation buttons.  The
  16. navigation buttons are a client-side image map.

  19. TIPS

  21. 1) Additional slides can be added by copying one of
  22. the template slides.  You will need to reset the links
  23. in the navigation button client-side image map of the
  24. new slide, the slide immediately before the new slide,
  25. and the slide immediately after the new slide to make
  26. the presentation work properly.

  28. 2) All images for the presentation template are
  29. contained in the Images folder.  It is good practice
  30. to do this, especially if you plan to upload your
  31. files to a server.

  33. 3) A simple color background is used for the slides.
  34. This was done for performance reasons, since
  35. background images (such as textures) take longer to
  36. download.  If you want, you can easily add a
  37. background image (choose Document Options from the
  38. Edit menu in Claris Home Page).

  40. 4) When giving your presentation, it is a good idea
  41. turn off your browser toolbars (this can usually be
  42. done in the Options menu of your browser's menu bar),
  43. and maximize your browser window to the size of the
  44. screen.

  46. 5) If you get into a situation where you have to
  47. scroll down to get to your navigation buttons, it is
  48. because you have tried to put too much information in
  49. your slide.  Try splitting the slide into two or more
  50. separate slides.  You can also try reducing the font
  51. size of the text in your slide to make it fit in a
  52. smaller space.
